Employment and Volunteer Opportunities
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The American Truck Historical Society offers college students exciting opportunities for rewarding unpaid/stipend internships. These positions last a length of time determined in consultation with the student and/or the student’s educational institution. Internships may be conducted during the fall, spring, or summer semesters. The number of available internships varies with the ongoing needs of the Society. The selection process is competitive in nature.
Internship applications should be sent to info@ATHS.org Your application needs to include:
- A cover letter/letter of intent (stating the internship to which you are applying);
- Your resume; and
- Three references (including their names, contact information and their relationship to you).
Please attach all documents to your email in a single PDF file, labeled with your last name.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
As a member-owned and member-run historical society, volunteers have played an instrumental role in the success of the American Truck Historical Society. In addition to board, committee, and convenion volunteers, ATHS has year-around opportunities.
Volunteers serve in different capacities depending on their interests, including:
- Tour Guide/Administrative Clerk
- Audiovisual Assistant
If you like to visit people, helping as a tour guide may be a perfect fit. Or, if serving “behind the scenes” is more appealing, consider contributing your time as an administrative/archive assistant. If your interests vary, you can join the ranks of volunteers who lend their talents in more than one way. Hours are flexible from Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
All work is unpaid, but we offer the non-taxable benefits of new skills, friendships, and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve helped advance historical knowledge!
